A website they own, off a vendor that stopped answering.
SchlegelDunn's website lived on an industry template platform that had gone quiet on support tickets. We designed and built them a new site from scratch, moved every compliance document onto infrastructure they control, and cut the old domain over without leaving a single dead link. Their second project with Ridgeborn.

A template site, a vendor that went quiet, and compliance documents hosted somewhere else.
SchlegelDunn is a registered investment advisory firm that has served clients in Plano since 2005. Their website came from a platform that serves thousands of advisory firms the same template. Support tickets were going unanswered, and the firm had no way to change anything themselves.
Underneath the template were the problems you find when nobody has looked closely in a while. The Form CRS and privacy policy were served from the vendor's servers, not the firm's. A link to the SEC's adviser lookup had a stray character in it and had never worked. Three footer links pointed nowhere.
They wanted a site that looked like the firm, that they owned outright, and that a real person would answer the phone about. Leaving the platform also meant leaving its search rankings behind unless the migration was done carefully.
A site designed for this firm, built to be left alone.
Fixed price for the design, build, and migration. Then a monthly retainer that hosts it and answers the phone.
Twelve directions, then three, then one.
We designed twelve concepts from scratch, no themes or templates, each built on the firm's real copy and photography, and let the partners pick. They narrowed to three, we refined those, and they chose one with motion in it. Nobody had to imagine a mockup.
The CCO's words, character for character.
Disclosures, risk language, terms of use, and privacy text went in exactly as the Chief Compliance Officer wrote them. An automated check compared every block to the source document before anything shipped.
Their own Form CRS and privacy policy, on their own site.
The old site hot-linked compliance PDFs from the vendor's servers. Now they live in the firm's own repository, where a revised document replaces the old one the day it arrives.
Plain HTML, in a repository they hold.
No content platform, no plugin updates, no CMS login to protect. The site is static files and one small function for the contact form. Change a line, the site rebuilds itself.

We found a typo in a regulatory document. We reported it instead of fixing it.
A revised privacy policy arrived from the firm with a dropped digit in its effective date. A web shop would have corrected it and moved on. For a registered advisor, a vendor silently changing a compliance document is the wrong kind of help.
We flagged it, the CCO fixed it in his own file within the hour, and we swapped the document in place. Then we ran a word-level comparison to prove the only change was the one he made. That is how every regulated line on the site was handled.
Live on their own domain, with nothing left on the old vendor.
The domain cut over on a morning call with the firm's owner. Every old address on the previous site redirects to its new home, so links in client emails and search results still land. The contact form delivers to the person who actually reads that inbox. Search Console was verified and the sitemap submitted the next day.
The firm now holds the code, the documents, the domain records, and the hosting account. If they ever leave Ridgeborn, they take the whole site with them. That is the point.
Stuck on a platform that stopped answering?
We do custom builds for regulated firms at a fixed price, move you off the vendor without losing what search already knows about you, and hand you the keys.
